EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
C & S Blacktopping, Inc is looking for an EQUIPMENT OPERATOR to join our team. An equipment operator must be able to operate equipment of various sizes and weights, in a safe and efficient manner. We are a residential and commercial paving contractor based out of the north metro.
Paver Operator:
- Must be able to operate a paver
- Set-up paver before every project
- Must be able to direct truck driver, enter paver smoothly, raise/lower box, and exit paver when empty.
- Observe material being dumped into hopper for segregation and proper consistency
- Observe distribution of paving material along screed and control the direction of the screed to eliminate voids
- Manipulates cranks to control the depth of the paving machine that spreads and levels asphalt
- Monitor and perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Consistently keep equipment clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety, and efficiency
- Additional duties as assigned by management
Roller Operator:
- Must be able to operate a roller
- Set-up roller before every project
- Distribute, break down, compress, and give a finished surface to cooling asphalt
- Consistently keep equipment clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety, and efficiency
- Additional duties as assigned by management
Skid Loader Operator:
- Operate all controls and functions of the skid loader in a safe manner.
- Be able to operate equipment efficiently
- Ability to fine grade subgrade and aggregate base.
- Consistently keep equipment clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety, and efficiency
- Additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Skills:
- Successfully pass a D.O.T. physical, pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Must maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirements, i.e., CDL, Class A, Class B and/or Class C
- Strong time management/organizational skills
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or Leads with other duties as required
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction and asphalt paving
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Wage range based on experience.
